Here are some activities and symbols associated with Remembrance Day. Also some little known facts regarding our men over seas and life on the homefront are presented. Service Women, politicians, families and heroes are all remembered on this site.

This poster tries to capture the bleakness and poignacy of a soldier's experience while reminding us of the importance of involving today's youth in remembrance. The goals of the Remembrance Day Poster program are outlined here as is the aim of Veterans Affairs Canada.

Each year Veterans Affairs Canada commissions the design of a poster to commemorate Veterans' Week. Over the years, the Veterans' Week posters have been both artistic and photographic in nature. The themes range from marking battles or events to portraying the personal side of war and peace.

2003 marked the 50th anniversary of the Korean War Armistice. To help Canadians remember the sacrifice and achievement by Canadian forces during this time, a poster was commissioned featuring the Monument to Canadian Fallen located in Busan, South Korea. It is important that the youth of today do not forget the sacrifices of the youth of yesterday. This poster shows one youth remembering those soldiers who are buried in France.

The collage of photos presented on this poster represents the three branches of the armed forces and the three major conflicts Canada has participated in during the Twentieth Century. Our modern day Peace Keepers are also represented.

The armistice to end the First World War took effect at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. Our Remembrance Day poster this year commemorates the 80th anniversary of the end of that War.

The 1997 Remembrance Day Poster highlights the Korean War. The price of war is caught both through the poster itself but also with a brief description of military action in Korea, specifically the battle of Kapyong.

“A Century of Valour”. The 1999 Remembrance Day poster commemorates Canada's wartime and peacekeeping efforts throughout the 20th century.
