Second Thrust Turned Back

Shortly after the Fenians' June 1866 victory at Ridgeway, a second column of Irish-Americans invaded Canada south of Montreal. Met by several thousand British and Canadian defenders, the Fenians fled for the border. Some were caught and brought to battle at Pidgeon Hill.
